LDN London is an award-winning charity with over 60 years’ experience of supporting people with learning disabilities to stay healthy, be safe and live well. We have a fantastic opportunity for several experienced support workers to join our new supported living service in Camden which is located near Kentish Town tube station. The service is a 5-bed supported living accommodation which supports people with moderate to severe learning disabilities varying from autism to complex needs. This is an all-female service.
Job Responsibility:
Help people with learning disabilities to live safe, fulfilling, and dignified lives in supported accommodation or their own home
Provide support through the day and the night on a rota basis
Work with people who need assistance with their daily lives
Provide physical support including moving and manual handling
Deliver personal care with dignity, care, and respect
Support people to be part of the community and develop independence skills
Requirements:
Experience as a support worker
Good understanding of how to support people with complex needs
Experience in moving and manual handling
Strong communication skills to support non-verbal or less vocal individuals
Understanding and experience of providing personal care to people with learning disabilities
Ability to develop strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
Ability to use own initiative, problem solve, and prioritise
Good planning and organisational skills
Positive, resilient attitude
Ability to work under pressure
Flexible and adaptable
Must be female (for this all-female service)
Must be able to provide employment or professional references covering the last three years
