We are currently looking to recruit full and part time Support Workers/Carer Professionals to join our friendly, dedicated team and support our service users across Hertfordshire. Your Role as a Support Worker / Respite Caregiver: As a Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in helping individuals live independently and enjoy fulfilling lives. You’ll provide person-centred support, enabling service users to develop skills, build confidence, and take part in their home and wider community life. We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, and self-motivated individuals to provide temporary relief to primary caregivers. This role ensures clients continue receiving high-quality care, companionship, and daily support while their regular caregiver takes time to rest, recharge, or attend to personal matters.
Job Responsibility:
Personal Care: Assisting with washing, bathing, showering, grooming, dressing, and toileting/continence care
Household Tasks: Supporting with meal preparation, light cleaning, laundry, ironing, and changing bed linen
Medication Support: Assisting with reminders, administration, and recording intake as per the care plan
Companionship & Social Interaction: Providing conversation, reassurance, and accompanying clients on walks, appointments, or social activities
Mobility & Exercise: Assisting with transfers and the use of mobility aids
Record-Keeping: Completing care logs and communicating with families and healthcare professionals
Support adults with learning disabilities, autism and autistic spectrum disorders, complex needs, mental health issues and challenging behaviours in all aspects of their daily lives
Support the service users with general household chores for example cooking and laundry and housework such as hoovering and dusting and personal care
Requirements:
Compassion and empathy: A genuine desire to help others
Communication: Building rapport with clients and families
Patience and understanding: Remaining calm in challenging situations
Observational skills: Noticing changes in condition or behaviour
Organisation: Managing tasks effectively and keeping accurate records
Physical stamina: Required for tasks like lifting or assisting with mobility
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
