The Nelson Trust is a leading charity providing recovery-focused support for people affected by addiction, trauma and multiple disadvantage. We are looking for a passionate and motivated Support Worker / Group Facilitator to join our Men's Residential Service. This is a varied and rewarding role supporting clients through trauma-informed addiction treatment, delivering impactful group interventions and providing practical, person-centred support to help individuals build sustainable recovery.
Job Responsibility
Deliver engaging, high-quality group interventions that support recovery journeys
Provide compassionate, practical support with housing, benefits, health and wellbeing
Encourage and motivate clients to fully engage in their treatment programme
Contribute to care planning and regularly review client progress and needs
Safely administer and support with prescription medication
Create a welcoming environment by preparing for and supporting new admissions
Work collaboratively with external agencies to ensure joined-up care
Keep clear and accurate records to support high-quality service delivery
Requirements
Experience or knowledge of working in addiction, residential or support settings
A full UK driving license and willingness to transport clients
Understanding of safeguarding and working within CQC regulated environments
Administration of prescription medication and stock taking (training can be provided)
Strong communication and organisational skills
A calm, resilient approach with the ability to prioritise effectively
A genuine passion for recovery-focused, person-centred support and ability to build trusting, therapeutic relationships
