Job Description

Join a new supported living service helping two 23-year-old men with profound deafness transition to independence. Be a Support Worker - Complex Communication Needs who empowers lives through communication.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver 1:1 and 2:1 care using BSL or willing to commit to training to complete this course within 1 year
  • Support with cooking, cleaning, personal care, and routines
  • Facilitate health appointments and medication
  • Promote inclusion through swimming, gaming, deaf clubs, and conventions
  • Use visual tools (VOCA, symbol boards)
  • Maintain accurate care records

Requirements

  • BSL qualification held, or have the commitment to complete this within 1 year
  • Experience with learning disabilities or communication needs
  • Empathy, patience, and trust-building skills
  • Flexibility for varied shifts and weekends
  • Experience of working with young people who need support in managing behaviours
  • Applicants must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK
