Complex Care Support Worker – Behaviour Support. This is not a standard care role. We are looking for confident, resilient and experienced staff who are comfortable supporting individuals with complex behavioural needs, learning disabilities, autism, and mental health conditions. Many of the individuals we support may lack capacity to make safe decisions, may struggle with emotional regulation, and may display behaviours that challenge services. Your role will be to provide consistent, structured, person-centred support that promotes stability, safety, and independence.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs who require high levels of structured support
Supporting individuals who may display behaviours that challenge
Recognising behavioural triggers and using proactive de-escalation strategies
Implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans
Maintaining a calm, structured and therapeutic environment
Providing high quality, person-centred support that focuses on: Promoting independence, Maintaining dignity and respect, Supporting individuals who may lack capacity, Encouraging positive routines and stability
Supporting individuals with: Personal care, Medication administration, Meal preparation, Household tasks, Budgeting and life skills
Supporting individuals to safely access the community including: Activities and hobbies, Appointments, Social engagement, Health services when required
Requirements:
Experience in complex care environments
Experience supporting individuals with at least one of: Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Conditions, Mental Health Needs, Behaviours that Challenge, Individuals who lack capacity
Confidence working in highly complex support environments
Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging situations
Strong understanding of person-centred care
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to follow care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans
Experience with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
Nice to have:
Knowledge of trauma-informed care
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
Experience supporting individuals with complex behavioural needs
Full UK Driving Licence
