Requirements

Experience working with young people, preferably care leavers or vulnerable groups
Understanding of safeguarding, mental health, and trauma-informed care
Excellent communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to undergo one

Job Responsibility

Support and Guidance: Assist care leavers in developing independence and life skills, including budgeting, cooking, and maintaining a clean home
Provide emotional support, encouragement, and mentoring to build self-esteem and resilience
Support young people in accessing education, training, and employment opportunities
Help with managing appointments, benefits, and tenancy responsibilities
Advocate for young people and ensure their voices are heard in decision-making processes
Safeguarding and Well-being: Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment
Identify and report safeguarding concerns following company policies and procedures
Work in partnership with social workers, mental health services, and other professionals to ensure young people's well-being
Support young people with managing relationships, self-care, and mental health
Household and Practical Support: Assist in maintaining a safe and comfortable living environment
