Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting or equivalent
Hands-on experience with: T1 Personal Tax Returns, T1 Terminal (Final) Returns, T3 Trust and Estate Returns
Strong knowledge of Graduated Rate Estates (GREs)
Experience using tax preparation software

Job Responsibility

Prepare and review complex personal, Estate, and Trust tax returns, including T1, T1 Terminal (Final), T3 Trusts, GREs, and Rights or Things returns
Ensure all compliance obligations are met accurately and on time
Identify and implement post-mortem and other tax planning opportunities
Review CRA notices of assessment and prepare adjustments, objections, and Clearance Certificate requests
Liaise with CRA to address audit inquiries and information requests
Act as a technical tax resource to internal trust associates and tax team members
Train, mentor, and support junior staff
Oversee workload distribution and quality control
Participate in special projects as assigned
Collaborate with internal partners, external tax professionals, and clients to resolve taxation issues and ensure timely filings
