We have an exciting opportunity for two understanding and creative male colleagues with a positive attitude to join our new service supporting a young man as Support Practitioners on a permanent basis. We have a full-time (39hr) contract and part-time (16hr) contract available. You don't need experience in care to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferrable skills. We’ll give you all the training you need to be an amazing Support Practitioner including a fully funded SVQ.
Job Responsibility:
Support a young man with psychosis and schizophrenia
Help support him learn life skills including cooking and looking after his home
Explore new hobbies and integrating with his local community
Assist with daily living tasks including meal preparation, medication management, attending appointments and activities, handling personal finances and prompts with personal care
Offer emotional guidance, support with addictions and help the young man maintain meaningful relationships with his family and friends
Support on an outcome-based programme to see the young man grow in confidence and learn life skills to increase their independence
Take an active interest in their hobbies with include going out for walks and to their social clubs and going on outings
Enable him to explore new opportunities and reduce his social isolation
Requirements:
Have an empathetic and caring nature
Good observation skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Confidence in using computers
Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own
Good organisational skills
