We are looking for dedicated and resilient Support Staff to work within a specialist Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) boys’ school supporting pupils across KS2, KS3 and KS4. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who want to move away from long shifts and weekend work into a structured, term-time role.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting pupils in the classroom and during activities
Building positive, trusting relationships
Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour
Encouraging engagement in learning and routines
Promoting emotional regulation and social skills
Working closely with teaching staff and therapists
Providing a safe, structured and supportive environment
Requirements:
Experience in SEMH, SEN or behaviour support
Care or support work
Youth work or mentoring
Mental health support roles
A genuine passion for helping young people
Resilience and the ability to stay calm under pressure
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Patience, empathy and understanding
Energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude
A proactive mindset and willingness to learn
Nice to have:
