Carex is partnering with a healthtech startup partner to find a Support Engineer for a remote, 4 month contract, with the ability to extend. The ideal profile is someone who is agile, self-driven, and passionate about healthcare IT and customer experience. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented problem solver with strong technical aptitude and a collaborative mindset. The Support Engineer will work closely with Software Engineers and interface regularly with customer IT staff, playing a key role in issue resolution, change management, technical communications, and ongoing support process improvements. This person must reside and work on West Coast hours.
Job Responsibility:
Provide advanced technical support and guidance to customers using the platform
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues using monitoring tools and error logs
Triage, diagnose, escalate, and resolve customer tickets in coordination with Engineering
Support implementation and installation processes by collaborating with internal teams and vendors
Contribute to internal and external support documentation, including SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base content
Provide feedback on onboarding materials, workflows, and documentation best practices to help improve Support team scalability and efficiency
Communicate regularly and effectively with customers and their IT staff
Develop deep product expertise to drive resolution and improvements
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in technical customer support, including 2+ years in Healthcare IT
Strong skills in reading and troubleshooting error logs and code-related issues
Experience contributing to or maintaining technical documentation, support workflows, or knowledge base content
Familiarity with documentation best practices and process improvement within Support or Support Operations environments
Clear, empathetic communication and a collaborative attitude
Familiarity with ticketing systems and documenting support workflows
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Comfort working in Agile/Scrum environments
Nice to have:
Exposure to Epic, Cerner, or similar healthcare IT systems
Hands-on experience with tools such as DataDog, LaunchDarkly, and Salesforce
Background in Systems Engineering, with experience in performance monitoring, technical research, and documentation
