We are seeking a Crewing Assistant, reporting directly to the Crewing Manager and working closely with the Senior Operations Support Manager (SpM). The role of the Crewing Assistant is integral to the smooth running of the Special Missions (SpM) flying operations. Your primary role is to draft, deliver and monitor crew rosters for SpM whilst facilitating the effective delivery of the com SpM flying programme, whilst considering the regulatory implications.
Job Responsibility:
Proactively engaging with the crews, operations team, and operational delivery managers, supporting each team as necessary, whilst overseeing and maintaining the compliant and efficient delivery of our crew rosters
Providing sound Flight Time Limitations (FTLs) advice to the Operations department and delivery managers, ensuring that all crews remain within regulatory limitations, conducting ongoing legality checks to ensure compliance with the Company flight time limitations schemes
Contribute to the SpM continuous improvement drive, monitoring preventative and recovery processes to ensure FTLs are maintained
Participate in daily, weekly and monthly Crewing meetings
Proactively manage and resolve potential FTL violations, ensuring that any policy or FTL breaches are swiftly actioned/reported
Contribute to the writing and maintenance of Crewing/Rostering Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Crew Planning Instructions
Monitor that discretion reports, monthly FTL violation reports, and daily roster robustness checks are actioned and completed in a timely manner
Requirements:
Previous experience of crewing and rostering within an aviation environment is essential
Working knowledge of the UK CAA’s Flight Time Limitations schemes
Process and detail orientated with a proven record of dealing with change, complexity and ambiguity
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
An assertive and constructive problem-solving nature is essential, with the ability to generate ideas and alternatives through logical thinking
Stress resilient and self-motivated, often working under pressure and to tight deadlines in a reactive environment
Strong IT literacy and a capable user of the Microsoft Office Suite, with particular experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Works under own initiative, requiring minimal guidance from the Line Manager
Continually and proactively seeks new ways of working to improve overall business performance
Promotes an open safety reporting culture amongst the team
