We are currently seeking a flexible and enthusiastic Supply/Long-Term Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a temporary basis covering absences or to fill long-term assignments as needed, supporting our commitment to maintaining continuity of education for our students.
Job Responsibility:
Providing support to classroom teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities across various subjects and year groups
Assisting with classroom management and behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive learning environment
Working with small groups or individual students to provide targeted support and intervention, including those with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND)
Supporting the inclusion and participation of all students in classroom activities and school events
Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to ensure the smooth running of daily routines and activities
Adapting to different teaching environments and following lesson plans provided by classroom teachers
Maintaining records of student progress, behaviour, and any other relevant information as required
Requirements:
Relevant experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably within a primary school environment
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or equivalent qualification
Strong understanding of child development and effective learning strategies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents
Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classrooms and year groups as required
Empathy, patience, and resilience to work with students with a range of abilities and needs
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, following instructions and using initiative when required
