We are looking for dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants specialising in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) to join our specialist team in Exeter. In this role, you won't just be a classroom assistant; you'll be a mentor, a stabiliser, and a champion for pupils who face significant barriers to learning.
Job Responsibility:
Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour and promote positive emotional regulation
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored activities that meet specific EHCP goals
Maintain a supportive, calm, and engaging atmosphere even during high-pressure moments
Work alongside a dedicated team of specialists to ensure every pupil feels seen and supported
Requirements:
Proven track record supporting pupils with SEMH needs (essential)
Calm under pressure, empathetic, and highly resilient
Willing to work across different age groups and school settings at short notice
Strong interpersonal skills to build quick rapport with both staff and students
