You will be working in a specialist environment designed to help pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs find their path back to successful learning.
Job Responsibility:
Emotional Regulation: Using trauma-informed approaches to help pupils manage their emotions and return to a state of calm
1:1 Mentoring: Building deep rapport with specific pupils to help them navigate social hurdles and curriculum demands
Classroom Support: Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored activities that meet sensory and cognitive needs
Safe Environments: Maintaining a secure, nurturing, and engaging classroom atmosphere
Requirements:
SEMH Experience: Essential experience supporting pupils with SEMH or complex behavioural needs
Resilience: A calm, patient nature and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations effectively
Immediate Availability: Ready to start work straight away in the Haywards Heath area
Commitment: A passion for inclusive education and a "child-first" approach
