Supply SEN Teacher Position Type: Supply / Flexible / Short-term Cover Requirements: QTS Essential & Proven SEN Experience Are you an experienced, adaptable, and immediately available SEN Teacher looking for flexible work? We are actively seeking outstanding and dedicated Supply SEN Teachers to join our specialist setting, which focuses on supporting pupils with a diverse range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). This vital role involves providing high-quality, short-term, and flexible cover across various classes and age groups, ensuring continuity of learning for our pupils with complex needs. The Role As a Supply SEN Teacher, you will: Deliver & Adapt: Teach pre-planned lessons (or plan and deliver where required) tailored to the specific learning and developmental needs of small class groups. Manage & Support: Effectively implement established positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies to maintain a calm, safe, and productive classroom environment. Connect: Quickly establish rapport, trust, and clear boundaries with pupils with various additional needs and challenging behaviours. Collaborate: Work effectively alongside dedicated support staff (Teaching Assistants) allocated to your class. Safeguard: Ensure all school policies and strict safeguarding procedures are adhered to across the school day. Report: Leave clear, constructive feedback on the day's teaching and pupil progress for the returning teacher. What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate will be: Qualified: A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is essential. Experienced: Demonstrably experienced in teaching pupils within an SEN setting (essential). Adaptable: Flexible, reliable, and immediately available for daily and short-term bookings. Skilled: Highly proficient in differentiating work, managing challenging behaviour, and ensuring pupil engagement. Resilient: Calm, patient, and able to adapt quickly to different class groups, ability levels, and subject areas. Committed: Dedicated to maintaining high standards of teaching and pupil well-being, even on a supply basis.
