Job Description:

Robert Half is excited to partner with John Deere in their search for a Supply Management Specialist to join their Aftermarket & Customer Support Procurement team in Dubuque, IA. This is your chance to work with an industry leader and leverage your expertise in a role that combines strategic sourcing, supplier engagement, and process improvement.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee the Order Fulfillment Process (OFP)—ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness
  • Lead part sourcing activities—reviewing quotations, selecting suppliers, and assessing capabilities based on price, quality, process capability, and stability
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to manage change (ECM) and ensure product improvements are delivered cost-effectively
  • Resolve shipping, receiving, invoicing, and payment challenges to ensure smooth supplier relations and timely payments
  • Drive continuous improvement with suppliers, leveraging John Deere’s Achieving Excellence program
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, proactively addressing performance issues, and ensuring open communication

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive problem-solving mindset
  • Strong understanding of supply management processes, order fulfillment, and negotiation strategies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and adaptable to various business management/reporting systems (such as SAP)
  • Comfort working and collaborating in a dynamic team environment

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Management/Logistics, Accounting/Finance, or Engineering/Technology (or equivalent work experience in related roles)
  • Experience in supply management specialties—like logistics, strategic sourcing, or supplier integration
  • Hands-on experience with SAP, Business Objects, or Business Warehouse reporting systems
  • Background in managing external supplier contracts, scheduling, and purchasing
