Teradyne is seeking a Senior Supply Line Engineer to join our Global Supply Base Management team in Bangkok. This role is responsible for supplier quality, part qualification, EMS factory support, and supplier development across Thailand and the broader ASEAN region. The position requires a hands-on engineer who can solve complex manufacturing and supplier issues, work effectively across cultures, and drive continuous improvement while balancing global standards with local execution realities.
Job Responsibility
Serve as the primary interface between Teradyne, EMS partners, and assigned suppliers to resolve supplier quality and production issues
Work closely with contract manufacturing resources and internal stakeholders to support analysis, issue investigation, and alignment on supplier quality concerns
Lead containment actions and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to maintain customer shipments while protecting product quality
Review supplier 8D reports, provide feedback, and escalate technical issues to engineering teams when required
Prepare and manage quality documentation such as hold notices, deviations, and related disposition records
Provide on-site support at EMS and supplier locations as needed to ensure timely issue resolution and manufacturing continuity
Lead qualification of mechanical and electromechanical components to ensure compliance with design requirements and product life-cycle expectations
Conduct supplier process audits and review First Article Inspection / First Article Inspection Reports (FAI/FAIR)
Use statistical methods and process capability analysis to validate manufacturing readiness and ongoing process control
Assess finish, cosmetic, and workmanship standards to ensure components meet Teradyne expectations
Identify qualification risks early and work with suppliers and internal teams to close capability gaps
Drive supplier performance improvement in quality, delivery, and process capability through structured development plans
Conduct supplier system-level and process-level audits to identify gaps and improvement opportunities
Provide feedback to Teradyne stakeholders and supplier management on risks, performance trends, and improvement priorities
Perform regular visits to suppliers in Thailand and, where required, across ASEAN to follow up on proactive improvement initiatives
Evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure sustainable closure of recurring issues
Build strong, trust-based relationships with local suppliers while maintaining high technical and quality standards
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
Fluent English communication (written and verbal) is required
additional language skills such as Chinese or Thai are strong advantages
Strong hands-on experience in fabrication processes is essential, including machining, sheet metal fabrication, tooling, and mechanical assembly
Solid understanding of mechanical drawings, including tolerances and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in design, manufacturing, operations, and/or supplier quality or supplier management
Good understanding of quality fundamentals and concepts, with the ability to apply them in real manufacturing environments
Practical experience applying key quality tools, including Control Plan, FMEA, MSA, and structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D
Exposure to both mechanical and electromechanical components is highly desirable, including cable assemblies, power supplies, pneumatics, molding, and casting processes
Experience in supplier audit and supplier development is a strong advantage, particularly in driving performance improvement
Experience in supplier or part qualification processes (for example, FAI/FAIR and process validation) is preferred
Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments is an advantage, with the ability to manage complexity and variability
