The Role As a supply KS1 TA, you will be working across Years 1 and 2 in various local Leeds primary schools, delivering targeted support to help children thrive in reading, writing, and early mathematics.
Job Responsibility
Phonics Support: Deliver small group or 1:1 interventions using recognised phonics programs
Bridging the Gap: Help children transition smoothly from the play-based EYFS environment into a more formal classroom structure
Core Subject Boosting: Work closely with the class teacher to support pupils who need an extra boost in reading comprehension and basic numeracy
Positive Behaviour Management: Maintain a focused, encouraging, and safe learning environment using praise and positive reinforcement
Requirements
Applicants must have previous UK experience working within a primary school setting, ideally with KS1 children
A strong foundational knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for Key Stage 1
A patient, adaptable, and encouraging approach to learning
An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or the willingness to apply for one through Randstad)
