We are looking for a motivated and technically capable R&D Supply Chain Specialist to join our fast-moving Global Supply Chain Organization in support of engineering. This role supports hardware development activities by coordinating sourcing, procurement, and material readiness for engineering teams developing complex electronic systems. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to help ensure development builds stay on track amid evolving designs, supply variability, and changing schedules. The role requires adaptability, strong execution skills, and a solid understanding of electronics supply chains, including PCB manufacturing and hardware prototyping. You should be comfortable working in a dynamic environment and supporting multiple priorities under tight timelines.
Job Responsibility:
Support electronics engineering teams working on multiple, fast-moving hardware development projects
Translate early-stage concepts, evolving BOMs, and engineering change updates into sourcing and procurement actions with guidance from senior team members as needed
Provide timely input to engineers on component availability, alternates, obsolescence risks, and quick-turn manufacturing options
Identify potential material or supply issues early and escalate risks while supporting workaround identification
Execute sourcing and procurement activities for electronic components, PCB fabrication, PCBA assembly, connectors, sensors, RF parts, embedded modules, and custom mechanical parts
Respond to BOM updates and design changes to help ensure prototype and pilot builds remain on schedule
Coordinate with approved suppliers to support quick-turn and small-batch production needs
Support identification and validation of alternative components or sourcing paths during shortages or supply disruptions
Interface with electronics suppliers to collect information on lead times, manufacturing capabilities, DFM considerations, and expedited build options
Support technical and commercial assessments of PCB/PCBA vendors, machining partners, and component distributors
Assist with expediting manufacturing slots, shipments, and prototype orders under tight timelines, escalating constraints when required
Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, program management, and operations to support build readiness and issue resolution
Maintain visibility into prototype schedules, engineering changes, and material risks, providing regular status updates
Demonstrate a proactive execution mindset by following up on open items, clarifying uncertainties, and helping close gaps efficiently
Track supply risks across assigned development programs and support mitigation actions
Maintain accurate sourcing documentation, cost tracking, and procurement data in ERP and related tools
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by supporting evaluation of new suppliers, sourcing channels, manufacturing partners, and tools
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Supply Chain, or a related field
3–5 years of experience in electronics sourcing, component procurement, or engineering supply chain roles within hardware development environments
Working technical understanding of electronic components, PCB fabrication, PCBA assembly, embedded electronics, and prototyping workflows
Ability to operate effectively in dynamic environments with changing priorities and tight timelines
