Job Description:

Robert Half is recruiting for an experienced interim Director of Supply Chain/ Consultant to lead global sourcing, procurement, planning, inventory, and supplier performance for an aerospace manufacturing organization. This role ensures AS9100 and ITAR compliance, optimizes material flow, and supports on‑time program delivery across a global supplier network.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead end‑to‑end global supply chain operations across sourcing, purchasing, planning, and logistics
  • Manage and develop teams in Purchasing, Planning, and Inventory Control
  • Oversee supplier selection, qualification, negotiations, and performance management
  • Drive AS9100‑compliant processes and ensure ITAR/export compliance
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Program Management on long‑lead components and program schedules
  • Monitor inventory levels, including VMI/consignment programs
  • Utilize ERP/MRP tools (Global Shop Solutions or Epicor) for materials planning and BOM accuracy
  • Lead cost‑reduction, risk‑mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support budget planning, CAPEX projects, and supplier quality activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering
  • 10+ years of supply chain leadership in aerospace or defense
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100, ITAR, DFARS, and aerospace compliance standards
  • Experience with machined parts, complex assemblies, and precision manufacturing
  • ERP/MRP proficiency (Epicor or Global Shop Solutions)
  • Strong negotiation, leadership, and cross‑functional communication skills
  • Experience managing global suppliers across North America, Europe, and Asia
