We are looking for an experienced Supply Chain/Procurement Manager to join our team on a contract basis in Texas. This role will guide purchasing strategy, supplier performance, and inventory planning for a growing manufacturing operation while helping improve profitability and cash efficiency. The position works closely with leadership to align sourcing decisions with financial goals, operational needs, and long-term business priorities.
Job Responsibility:
Direct purchasing and sourcing activities across materials, components, and operating supplies to support production and business continuity
Negotiate supplier agreements, pricing terms, and commercial conditions that strengthen cost control and improve margin performance
Oversee a high-value annual spend portfolio and deliver measurable savings through disciplined vendor management and sourcing strategy
Shape inventory planning, replenishment, and forecasting practices to maintain service levels while reducing excess stock and tied-up capital
Partner with finance and operations leaders to support cash flow targets, annual planning, and overall supply chain performance
Work with manufacturing, warehouse, and receiving teams to ensure materials availability aligns with production schedules and delivery commitments
Lead and develop procurement and inventory staff by setting expectations, monitoring performance, and building a culture of accountability
Establish procurement policies, approval standards, reporting tools, and system discipline to support a scalable and well-controlled operation
Monitor supplier results, inventory health, and spend trends through dashboards and analytics to inform business decisions and reduce supply risk
Requirements:
At least 8 years of progressive leadership experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related function, preferably within manufacturing or distribution
Demonstrated success managing annual purchasing volumes exceeding $20 million with direct responsibility for supplier negotiations
Strong business and financial judgment with the ability to influence margin improvement, inventory performance, and cash flow outcomes
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams in a hands-on operating environment
Experience leading purchasing or inventory teams and driving performance through coaching, structure, and accountability
Background in inventory-intensive industries such as manufacturing, building materials, or distribution is strongly preferred
Familiarity with procurement and inventory systems, reporting tools, and data-driven process improvement initiatives
Knowledge of supply chain logistics, inventory controls, physical inventory practices, and cycle count management
