We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Manager to join the Amgen External Planning (AXP) organization. Reporting to the Senior Manager Supply Chain, this role will lead a supply chain execution team based in Hyderabad, India supporting global AXP operations across the US, Europe, and JAPAC regions. The Supply Chain Manager will oversee end-to-end operational activities including SAP transaction execution, logistics coordination, master data governance, shipment execution, inventory reconciliation, and support operational data analytics. This role plays a critical part in enabling supply continuity, operational excellence, while ensuring reliability across the global AXP network. The ideal candidate combines strong supply chain operational expertise with leadership capabilities, digital mindset, analytical thinking, and the ability to drive continuous improvement within a complex global matrix organization.
Job Responsibility
Lead and develop a high-performing team supporting execution of global AXP operations
Oversee daily SAP and RapidResponse transactions supporting Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Order-to-Delivery (O2D) processes
Manage transactions including Process Orders, Purchase Orders, Goods Receipts, Delivery Note, Post Goods Issue, inventory transactions, and related execution activities
Ensure all system transactions are completed accurately, compliantly, and within required timelines
Own and manage non-routine transactions including inventory adjustments, scrap processing, and reconciliation activities
Establish a sustainable handshake process between execution and operation teams to ensure proper system and information flow
Establish a continuous improvement process for planning SOP's, Guiding Documents, and training materials to drive performance and efficiency
Coordinate and oversee end-to-end master data setup and maintenance activities across all product stages from DS to FDP, including BOMs, raw materials, and planning parameters
Drive new product financial and product flow assessment and coordinate new V Plant setup
Ensure end-to-end master data integrity, governance, and alignment across SAP and RapidResponse
Serve as functional SME to troubleshoot and investigate system and master data related issues
Partner to develop governance processes, audit mechanisms, and metrics to improve master data quality and setup turnaround time
Manage global shipment booking, tracking, and logistics coordination for commercial, clinical, and sample shipments
Coordinate new lane setup activities and develop new shipment processes for continuous improvement
Partner with Thermal Engineer to select or qualify new shippers for GMP product shipments
Partner with Global Distribution team to investigate and resolve shipment related issues
Support warehouse onboarding, qualification, and external inventory management activities
Monitor logistics KPIs and support transportation risk mitigation activities
Drive cost savings initiatives and ensure operating within budget
Analyze supply chain, planning, inventory, and logistics data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
Monitor lead-time variability, supply reliability, and inventory reconciliation activities
Partner in the development of dashboards, KPIs, and operational metrics to support decision-making
Unify planning standards across AXP network to reduce variabilities
Provide execution-level operational insights to support supply planning and business continuity decisions
Lead, coach, and develop a diverse execution team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Support talent development, capability building, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives
Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different functions
Support strategic initiatives, digital transformation efforts, and automation opportunities across the AXP organization
Operate effectively across multiple global time zones and matrix organizations
Requirements
Masters in business, Engineering and/or Supply Chain and 7 years of experience in Supply Chain or Manufacturing
OR Bachelor’s in business, Engineering and/or Supply Chain and 8 years’ experience in Supply Chain or Manufacturing
Established expertise and knowledge of Pharmaceutical/Biotech Supply Chain and GMP processes
Experience in SAP and/or RapidResponse ERP environments
Strong end-to-end supply chain experience and critical thinking skills
Demonstrated ability to form relationships, collaborate and influence across a multifunctional matrix organization
Ability to effect change and build consensus with groups of individuals
Ability and willingness to understand and represent the total-enterprise perspective
Proven ability to lead multiple projects and to be accountable for individual results
Digital mindset and interest in growing capabilities within our organization
Experience in regulated manufacturing environment or supply chain setting
Demonstrated experience in a continuous improvement role utilizing tools, methodologies, and change management (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma)
