SF Recruitment are working with a global leader in the FMCG manufacturing space, based in greater manchester to recruit a supply chain manager. An exciting opportunity to play the leading role within to site's planning & wider supply chain. This role would suit a seasoned supply chain professional with an accomplished planning background, or a senior planner/ planning manager looking for the next step up. The Supply Chain Manager leads demand, supply, and inventory planning activities across the region, ensuring consistent service excellence for customers while embedding divisional standards and best practices. The role is a key member of the site leadership team, partnering closely with Commercial, Operations, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Finance to deliver strategic and financial objectives. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong bias towards continuous improvement and the need to drive sustainable change across complex supply networks.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and promote a strong safety culture, maintaining a zero-tolerance approach to health and safety breaches and continuously improving workplace safety standards
Own and drive regional integrated planning processes, ensuring demand and supply scenarios are clearly understood and aligned
Lead on site IBP, identifying supply gaps and coordinating effective gap-closing actions, including impact assessment, escalation, and follow-up
Manage supply gap mitigation through internal production and external manufacturing partners in line with group outsourcing guidelines
Optimise finished goods inventory levels to consistently achieve target customer service levels across all supply sources
Act as the primary regional interface with group logistics, defining storage requirements and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity
Translate commercial demand forecasts into robust and achievable supply plans
Work closely with manufacturing sites to balance production plans, minimise cost, and ensure timely availability of raw materials and components
Ensure site capacity assumptions, constraints, and improvement plans are accurately reflected in monthly planning and IBP cycles
Support new product introductions and manage product lifecycles to enable effective ramp-up, phase-out, and inventory control
Lead initiatives to reduce inventory risk, including ownership of obsolescence and SLOB management processes
Ensure accurate monitoring and control of inventory and WIP, maintaining high stock accuracy through cross-functional coordination
Define supply chain performance targets and regularly review progress against KPIs
Drive a culture of continuous improvement using recognised CI tools and methodologies
Build, organise, and develop the regional supply chain team, empowering individuals to take ownership and deliver high levels of internal and external service
Requirements:
Seasoned supply chain professional with an in-depth knowledge of the end-to-end planning process within a fast-moving manufacturing environment
Strong experience of supply chain data management & MRP systems
Demonstrable knowledge of & track record with CI/Lean methodologies
