We are looking for an experienced supply chain leader to support critical supplier performance and maintain continuity for production operations in Lenexa, Kansas. This Long-term Contract position focuses on resolving delivery challenges, strengthening supplier accountability, and improving end-to-end execution across the supply network. The role works closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to advance quality, cost, and service objectives while building sustainable operational improvements.
Job Responsibility:
Lead rapid issue resolution efforts when supplier or material constraints put production schedules at risk
Partner with suppliers and cross-functional teams to improve delivery performance, product quality, and overall supply reliability
Analyze recurring supply chain issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions that prevent repeat disruptions
Manage multiple priorities in a high-speed environment while keeping projects, escalations, and recovery plans on track
Develop and execute improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, reduce cost exposure, and support business goals
Use data, reporting, and structured decision-making to guide actions related to supplier performance and material flow
Build productive working relationships with internal teams and global suppliers to accelerate problem solving and drive accountability
Support process discipline through project management practices, timeline tracking, and follow-through on key deliverables
Travel as needed, typically around 25 to 30 percent and at times up to 40 percent, based on business demand
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of related experience
Demonstrated background in supply chain management, supplier performance, or commodity management
Experience leading cross-functional efforts in production, logistics, or operations-focused environments
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to act quickly under tight deadlines
Working knowledge of process improvement methods, corrective action planning, and operational performance metrics
Ability to build effective partnerships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders
Willingness to travel based on business needs
Nice to have:
Familiarity with SAP R/3 or similar enterprise systems is preferred
