We are looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager/Director to oversee purchasing and inventory control operations in the Worcester Massachusetts area. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring efficient inventory management, optimizing procurement strategies, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. Job Responsibility:
Develop and implement inventory control strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels and prevent shortages or overstocking
Monitor inventory movements and resolve discrepancies by analyzing data and identifying variances
Source and qualify alternative suppliers, both domestic and international, for raw materials and finished goods
Collaborate with teams across sales, operations, and finance to forecast inventory needs and establish reliable inventory targets
Manage the forecasting process for the business using ForecastX software to support inventory planning
Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable payment terms, and beneficial contract agreements
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and external partners to ensure a consistent and efficient supply chain
Analyze inventory data and prepare reports with actionable recommendations for improving purchasing and inventory strategies
Continuously refine purchasing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline operations
Supervise and guide a procurement specialist responsible for indirect supply purchasing for the manufacturing facility
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field
At least 7 years of progressive experience in supply chain, purchasing, or inventory management, with a track record of international procurement
Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to secure favorable terms with suppliers and vendors
Proficiency in inventory management systems and forecasting tools, such as ForecastX
Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory control methods, and purchasing best practices
Excellent analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed recommendations
Familiarity with laws, tariffs, and regulations related to international purchasing and inventory management
Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively
