Job Description

This is a senior, strategic position responsible for overseeing purchasing operations, supplier management, inventory control, and ERP/data accuracy across the full supply chain function. The successful candidate will lead the Purchasing team, drive cost-efficiency, improve system reliability, and ensure that stock availability, procurement accuracy, and inbound cost control meet the needs of a high-performing technical business.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the Purchasing team, setting performance standards and driving best practice
  • Manage all procurement activities to ensure timely, cost-effective, compliant purchasing
  • Maintain optimal stock availability while managing stock levels, forecasting, and reducing obsolescence
  • Oversee product range management and agree stocked ranges with business units
  • Develop strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability, performance, and negotiating leverage
  • Manage rebate agreements and supplier-related financial performance
  • Own and improve business systems used for procurement, inventory control, and supply chain visibility
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement workflow, process, and systems improvements
  • Maintain clear oversight of purchasing budgets and cost control measures
  • Ensure product price files are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with supplier terms
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Warehouse Operations, and Senior leadership
  • Produce structured reporting: stock availability, purchasing KPIs, supplier performance, ESG data, and spend analysis
  • Support ERP upgrades, implementations, and digital transformation initiatives within the supply chain environment
