This area of the organisation manufacture patient specific products such as nutrition, chemotherapy and antibiotics. With a strong emphasis on visible Leadership, accountability and building a team ethos this role is ideal for anyone looking to make an impact on patient care. The role holder, under the guidance of the Thetford Unit Manager, will be responsible for leading and managing the supply chain activities in Thetford with direct line management responsibility for 3 teams, Customer Service and order handling, Warehouse/packaging/shipping, and Production Planning team. This role will be a part of the local SLT and will be responsible for overseeing and manage every stage of the production flow, from purchasing the raw materials to the delivery of the final product to our customers including forecasting trends and stock levels.

Job Responsibility

  • Through a high presence, high energy approach, to actively lead the teams to maximise Supply chain functions.
  • Develop, align and implement the overall supply chain strategy, working with all identified stakeholders to ensure business efficiency
  • Responsible for all supply chain related activities in supporting customers and manufacturing.
  • Responsible for inspiring and setting to the strategy for all teams to work towards to meet expectations and company targets for supply chain KPI’s
  • Responsible for leading in resolving issues that might affect safety, compliance, output, business ethics, responsible sourcing etc.
  • Through a strong presence on the workplace, coach and mentor staff to ensure all critical processes are executed with a sense of urgency in compliance to Baxter internal processes as well as ensuring documentation is completed in accordance with GMP, Standard Operating Procedures and other regulatory agency requirements.
  • Ensure timely completion of relevant deviation and complaint investigations to identify true root cause and elimination of future reoccurrences.
  • Set objectives for and appraise the performance of individual team members to ensure individuals are focused on activities that will support the Thetford objectives and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Proactively look for opportunities to drive continuous improvement, influence decisions and deliver the results whilst ensuring an appropriate level of compliance.
  • Combine a highly competitive approach with strong teamwork and flexibility, sharing best practice and ideas to take decisions actively and lead on projects.
  • Work closely with Unit Manager, Baxter Commercial organization, Operation, Engineering, Quality , procurement and cross functional compounding team to ensure agreement and execution of agreed critical success factors in the Unit.
  • Recruitment, development and resource allocation in area of responsibility. This includes a strong adherence to complying with company policies on sickness management, overtime, disciplinary hearings.
  • Responsible for competence development within team
  • Responsible for implementation and use of daily boards for tracking performance with mechanisms in place to address challenges in output.
  • Take ownership for own personal development plan.
  • Actively engage, promote and support development plans of direct reports and the wider teams.

Requirements

  • Strong experience as a Supply Chain Manager within a highly regulated GMP environment
  • Strong stakeholder management is essential to succeed in this role
  • Sense of ownership and pride in own and team performance and its impact on company’s success
  • Excellent time-management skills and experience in a role where the day to day changes regularly whereby able to work under time restraints and targets
  • Hands on experience with supply chain management software. We use Merlin, CUPA and JD so experience in these would be desirable
  • Experienced in leading and developing teams
  • Excellent verbal and formal communication skills, together with critical reasoning skills.
  • Experience within Risk Assessment, and root-cause analysis.
