We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager to lead financial planning, performance analysis, and operational oversight for supply chain activities in Portsmouth, Virginia. This role partners across inventory, warehousing, transportation, and planning functions to improve efficiency, strengthen cost visibility, and support informed business decisions. The position also plays a key role in developing team capability, maintaining strong compliance standards, and identifying opportunities that enhance operational and financial results.
Job Responsibility
Direct budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning activities for supply chain operations while coordinating with cross-functional partners to align cost targets and performance goals
Analyze operating and financial results for supply chain functions and deliver clear, timely insights to senior operations and finance leaders
Lead and develop team members through coaching, performance feedback, talent planning, and structured growth opportunities
Partner with inventory, warehousing, transportation, and supply planning teams to uncover cost-saving opportunities and improve overall supply chain performance
Oversee communication related to cost movements, business impact, and market-driven changes so stakeholders can respond effectively
Manage the financial evaluation and planning of capital initiatives tied to supply chain operations, including assessment of expected business impact
Recommend and help implement process improvements that reduce financial risk and generate measurable benefits across inventory and logistics activities
Collaborate with technology and analytics partners to enhance operational and financial reporting tools and improve visibility into business performance
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure financial and operational practices meet compliance requirements and company standards
Supervise supply chain finance and inventory staff, including hiring, training, work allocation, and ongoing performance management
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
At least 10 years of experience in finance, supply chain, or related business operations
Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience with responsibility for team development, employee management, and performance oversight
Strong background in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and business performance reporting
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and solid command of core financial and operational principles
Demonstrated ability to make decisions, solve problems proactively, and work effectively in a fast-moving environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organization, sound judgment, and integrity
Ability to travel up to 10% as needed to support plant or corporate locations
