The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for building and leading an end-to-end raw material sourcing and distribution network for specialized pet food ingredients. This role plays a critical part in scaling a temperature-controlled supply chain that supports both established global brands and rapidly growing customers. From supplier selection to final delivery, this position owns the systems, partnerships, and processes that ensure consistent supply, full traceability, and product integrity. As the operation grows from early-stage production into a large-scale commercial business, the Supply Chain Manager will help establish the operational foundation required for long-term growth. This role works closely with manufacturing, operations, quality, R&D, engineering, and finance to align supply chain execution with business objectives.
Job Responsibility:
Design and manage sourcing strategies for raw materials, including supplier selection, qualification, pricing, and performance management
Partner with senior leadership to develop scalable procurement and supplier management processes
Coordinate closely with manufacturing and logistics teams to ensure reliable material flow and minimize disruptions
Maintain temperature-controlled handling and distribution in compliance with FDA and food safety requirements
Provide oversight across supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, and quality functions
Lead and support a large network of contracted suppliers and field operators
Promote safe working practices across transportation, storage, and facility operations
Oversee end-to-end material movement, including sourcing, receiving, storage, shipping, and distribution
Support implementation and optimization of ERP systems to improve inventory accuracy, traceability, and order execution
Contribute to sales and operations planning activities to balance demand, capacity, and supply
Establish processes that support inventory control, working capital efficiency, and responsiveness to demand changes
Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic initiatives and growth planning
Assess new ingredient sourcing opportunities with strong commercial potential
Engage as needed with regulatory agencies, funding partners, and strategic collaborators
Track supply chain performance metrics, service levels, and costs
Identify and implement improvements across procurement, logistics, and cold-chain operations
Drive consistent execution while supporting margin improvement and scalable growth
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related discipline
advanced degree preferred
Five or more years of relevant experience in food or beverage manufacturing or processing environments
Experience with sales and operations planning and demand forecasting
Background in inventory management, working capital optimization, and supply planning
Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage complex, interconnected workflows with accuracy and consistency
Comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving, evolving environment

Exposure to seasonal supply models and variable demand environments preferred
