Job Description:

Randstad Defence is currently partnering with one of Australia’s leading defence organisations to secure exceptional talent for one of South Australia’s key projects in maritime construction & manufacturing. The role will be focused on supporting the maritime build program through supplier technical reviews and quality assessments. We are seeking senior-level engineers with a strong background in electrical engineering, combined with supply chain and team leadership experience.

Job Responsibility:

  • Review and understand engineering design requirements for naval applications
  • Review and understand the shipbuilding codes and technical specifications
  • Identify potential suppliers of required goods and services to support the procurement plan
  • Conduct pre-qualification desktop review of potential manufacturers and suppliers for compliance with project requirements
  • Participate in on-site visits to assess supplier capabilities and quality control processes
  • Review and compare equivalent international standards
  • Understand Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) requirements and results

Requirements:

  • Must be an Australian citizen to be able to hold and maintain and Australian NV1 Security Clearance
  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering and eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia (or other equivalent Professional society)
  • Have knowledge and experience of the following systems and technologies, including but not limited to: Cabinets and consoles, Electric Motors, Cables, Sensors
  • Be able to demonstrate high levels of commercial acumen
  • Ability to recognise and set appropriate priorities and work standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in the Defence ship building industry will be advantageous
