The Supply Chain Coordinator will be responsible to oversee both the purchasing and distribution of parts from our Asian supply chain to a variety of Global Customers. They will be involved with customer service, transportation, and factory coordination to create a cohesive supply chain that benefits all parties. The Supply Chain Coordinator may also negotiate with suppliers, vendors, manufacturers, and consumers, manage inventory, delivery terms and transportation costs, implement processes to improve efficiency, plan routes, and produce metrics and reports to analyze the performance of the supply chain.
Job Responsibility:
In co-ordination with team members in Asia, managing all the logistics of shipping products from China to various customer locations around the world
Managing ocean freight tracking, importer security filing (ISF), brokerage clearance, liaison with seaport terminals, railway and land transportation, delivery of goods, cost negotiation with brokers/truckers, cost analysis, cost tracking and handling of tariffs, charges and fees
Following up on customer inventory status, delivery timing and new order requirements, using customer portals to upload information and to check release orders…etc.
Coordinating and monitoring logistics of the movement of supplies and materials within an establishment and ensuring that supplies, materials and products are shipped and received on schedule
Regularly communicating with customers to understand their supply needs and to communicate real-time delivery status
Preparing and processing all customs documents for International shipments
Supporting the Business Development team in a variety of administrative processes, including the processing and tracking of new RFQs
Assisting in the analysis and preparation of quotations to customers
Managing sales inquiries and following-up on projects
Requirements:
College Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree within a related field (Business, Supply Chain Management, International Logistics…etc.) is required
1+ Year of experience in a supply chain role or related field is required
Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings (to facilitate effective communication with team members in China)
Ability to communicate in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is strongly preferred
Ability to self-start and work independently
Effective communicator and persuasive negotiator
Well-developed relationship building and management skills
High level of computer proficiency, specifically with word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and ERP.MRP software
Nice to have:
Experience from within Metallurgical Industry is an asset
