We are looking for a detail-oriented Supply Chain Assistant to support inventory control, receiving, and logistics operations in Virginia. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who enjoys keeping materials organized, maintaining accurate records, and helping ensure the smooth movement of goods across multiple locations. In this role, you will work closely with warehouse, logistics, and internal teams to manage incoming shipments, returned items, and inventory documentation with accuracy and urgency.
Job Responsibility:
Manage the receipt of incoming materials by checking shipments against order documentation and confirming product accuracy and condition
Investigate and report shortages, damage, or other receiving issues so they can be resolved quickly and properly documented
Enter receiving and inventory activity into business systems with a high level of accuracy, including updates for stock movements and returns
Organize, label, and place materials in designated storage areas to maintain an orderly and efficient warehouse environment
Monitor inventory locations across the operation, including returned goods and off-site or satellite stock, to support reliable stock visibility
Coordinate internal transfers of materials between locations and maintain clear records of each movement
Track inbound freight and containers, communicate with carriers and suppliers on delivery timing, and help schedule unloading activities
Process return authorizations by matching items to supporting documentation, updating status records, and following each return through final resolution
Ensure inventory-related paperwork is complete and organized while meeting turnaround expectations for returned, held, or reclassified items
Support site access and delivery flow by coordinating entry for pickups, visitors, and service providers, while assisting with additional operational tasks as needed
Requirements:
Experience supporting warehouse, inventory, receiving, or logistics operations in a fast-paced environment
Strong working knowledge of inventory tracking, asset control, and stock organization practices
Proficiency in Excel and confidence using digital systems to maintain accurate inventory and shipment records
must be able to do formulas such as VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, etc
Ability to identify discrepancies in shipments or stock records and follow through on corrective action
Comfortable coordinating with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to keep materials moving on schedule
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage documentation accurately and meet time-sensitive processing deadlines
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and contribute wherever needed to support daily operational demands
