Job Description

We are looking for a detail-focused Supply Chain Assistant to support purchasing and order coordination for a manufacturing operation in Bangor, Michigan. This long-term contract position is well suited for someone who works accurately, communicates clearly, and can keep multiple orders moving in a fast-paced setting. The person in this role will help maintain steady material flow by managing purchasing activities, tracking order progress, and working closely with internal teams and suppliers.

Job Responsibility

  • Create and process purchase orders based on internal requests while ensuring accuracy and timely completion
  • Record supplier confirmations and keep purchasing and order information current within company systems
  • Monitor open orders and provide clear status updates to internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Investigate and resolve shipment issues involving quantities, delivery timing, damaged goods, or missing paperwork
  • Support daily supply chain and procurement activities to help materials and information move efficiently through the business
  • Coordinate with operations, vendors, and other departments to answer order-related questions and maintain service expectations
  • Perform data entry and order tracking tasks with a high level of accuracy using business software and spreadsheets

Requirements

  • Previous experience in supply chain, purchasing, procurement, order management, or a related function is preferred
  • Proficiency with business systems, spreadsheets, and data entry tools
  • experience with Epicor is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate purchasing and order records
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with suppliers and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to organize competing priorities and follow tasks through to completion in a deadline-driven environment
  • Familiarity with resolving discrepancies, disputes, or order errors related to shipping and purchasing activities.

  • Proficiency with business systems, spreadsheets, and data entry tools
