A precision manufacturing organization is seeking a Planning and Scheduling Manager to lead production control and scheduling across multiple machining operations. This role requires hands on experience with shop floor planning, ERP driven scheduling, and managing complex machining workflows. The position has high visibility and works closely with engineering, supply chain, quality, and production leadership to drive operational performance across multiple sites.
Job Responsibility:
Lead production planning and scheduling for Elk Grove Village with support responsibilities for Wheeling and Phoenix
Build and maintain production schedules using M2M ERP or comparable manufacturing systems
Analyze capacity, manage constraints, and optimize resources in a high complexity machining environment
Lead and develop the planning team and oversee daily execution
Work directly with production on job sequencing and work order release
Drive ERP accuracy, workflow standardization, and continuous improvement
Partner cross functionally to support schedule alignment and on time delivery
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in engineering, business, or a related STEM field preferred
Seven plus years of experience in planning, scheduling, or production control within machining or heavy manufacturing
Strong shop floor scheduling and capacity planning expertise
ERP experience required
M2M preferred but not required
Proven ability to manage demand, mitigate scheduling risk, and lead teams
Nice to have:
Aerospace experience helpful but not required
related manufacturing industries welcome
