The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring externally provided products, processes and services conform to all applicable requirements and company standards. In this position you will manage supplier programs for manufacturing, packaging and other operational processes, as well as ensuring quality programs conform to all applicable requirements including regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Work closely with sourcing team to evaluate supplier capabilities and capacity for supplier selection process
Qualifies new suppliers based on customer requirements
Periodic reevaluation of suppliers based on delivery of quality products, materials, and services
Support operations in supplier related issues, communicates non-conformances identified during in-coming inspection, and manufacturing
and drive resolution in partnership with cross-functional teams and supplier
Lead investigations to identify root cause and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities with suppliers using appropriate problem-solving methods
Visit supplier facilities to conduct audits, witness production and inspection processes
Review and approve all First Article Inspection submissions
Monitor supplier performance and issue periodic reports
issue improvement actions to non-performing suppliers
Act as a single point of contact for all supplier related quality matters
Facilitate the escalation of unresolved supplier quality issues
Participate and support internal and external management system audits
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field or related technical field
Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing, Quality, or Engineering
Ability to participate in the resolution of technical issues with respect to product processes, systems and deliverables in engineering, supply chain and quality
Knowledge of Supplier Management practices and processes
Ability to provide guidance to suppliers on all aspects of quality
Experience in implementing, maintaining, and auditing management systems
Experience in developing supplier relations and continuous improvement plans
Proficient in 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies
