Perform supplier audits to support supplier selection and management processes through periodic supplier quality risk assessments and sustainability surveys. Work with purchasing to establish and implement integration plans for new suppliers, maintain and evaluate supplier performance quality metrics, assist in the development of long-term strategies to meet quality goals, and achieve compliance, financial and performance goals.
Job Responsibility:
Perform supplier audits to support supplier selection and management processes through periodic supplier quality risk assessments and sustainability surveys
Work with purchasing to establish and implement integration plans for new suppliers, maintain and evaluate supplier performance quality metrics, assist in the development of long-term strategies to meet quality goals, and achieve compliance, financial and performance goals
Review and implement corporate and local quality system management processes and procedures
Create and execute audit plans for strategic, new, third party and low performing suppliers
Execute audits with suppliers including quality system Risk Assessments and Sustainability Surveys consistent with corporate procedures, guidelines, and scheduled plans
Follow-up with all identified corrective actions in a timely fashion
Collaborate with Commodity and Category buyers to analyze supplier assessments in order to develop supplier capabilities to meet CommScope requirements
Analyze supplier capacity and process capability constraints and, if found deficient, develop/manage plans with suppliers for improvement of these requirements
Work with procurement personnel to engage in Supplier Business Reviews (SBR’s) with key suppliers to ensure full readiness to support CommScope product production, initial demand and upside requirements
Collaborate with Commodity and Category buyers, follow up and drive to root cause, corrective actions with all external and internal suppliers to drive DPPM metrics to designated goals
Provide a focal point to review all supplier generated change requests (PCN’s) affecting the Americas regions
Support continuous improvement efforts at suppliers based on analysis of problem suppliers
Provide leadership and/or participation of DOE’s and Kaizen events for selected Suppliers
Oversee and approve Incoming Inspection control plans for purchased and manufactured materials
Participate in Material Review Board analysis of defective materials in conjunction with the various CommScope Americas region manufacturing Operational Quality teams
Coordinate component level material qualifications (First Article Inspection) procedures for new materials and alternate sources
Review and maintain supplier Quality score cards with strategic suppliers
Provide Management with relevant data on a scheduled basis to communicate and address supplier excellence issues
Reviews, analysis and reports on supplier’s quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems
Working with suppliers, investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies
Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to determine responsibilities
Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications
Responsible for generating, establishing and implementing quality improvement plans for direct product material, production materials and third-party suppliers, working with these suppliers to resolve major quality issues and improve quality of parts supplied to Commscope or parts supplied directly to CommScope customers
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering related area
5 + years of experience in Injection Molding as Quality or Manufacturing Engineering, supplier quality improvement, supplier development, quality audits, and continuous process improvement in a manufacturing-related environment
Knowledge and demonstrated experience in using Lean Six Sigma tools
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
Detail oriented individual with excellent English communication skills
Ability to manage priorities / time with competing demands
Ability to travel to locations / regions in North, Central and South America and acquire appropriate visas when required
Nice to have:
SAP knowledge
Six Sigma certification
Certified Quality Engineer, or Certified Quality Auditor
Working knowledge and application of ISO quality Standards
Experience with the development and documentation of quality systems, processes and procedures
experience creating and documenting standard operating procedures (SOP) for supplier integration, development and metrics
Good Analytical skills
Tenacious capability to engage suppliers and follow through on requirements
Experience and knowledge in a commodity process expertise: e.g. Molding, Fiber Optics, Plating, Sheet Metal fabrication, High Speed Stamping
