We're looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to lead all supplier quality activities, focusing on Supplier Quality Management and Product Quality Support. You'll be responsible for supplier development, qualification, and management—including on-site audits, product inspection, control plan development, and production process evaluation and improvement. This role involves working with both new and existing suppliers to ensure quality excellence across our supply chain.
Job Responsibility:
Drive supplier qualification processes for all existing and prospective Victaulic suppliers in-country
Support all elements of the supplier quality management system including first piece approvals, periodic production part inspections, product and process validations, control plan development and adherence, non-conforming material containment, root cause analysis, and CAPA
Help suppliers understand and implement Victaulic product specifications
Lead supplier corrective actions related to internal or external failures reported through SCAR and PCAR systems
Focus on supplier development by identifying opportunities based on health risk and benefit
Perform trend analysis and establish ongoing supplier quality metrics
Maintain regular communication with internal customers
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline (asset)
Minimum 5 years of experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering role with proven success in supplier qualification, management, correction, and development
Experience managing supplier quality for cast, machined, fabricated and assembled components
Strong knowledge of facility audits in accordance with standard QMS guidelines
Strong understanding of Quality Engineering principles and techniques, including statistical analysis and related software
ASQ Certified Quality Auditor or Certified Quality Engineer (asset)
Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies
Proficiency with electronic systems and software (MS Office, Minitab, etc.)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of measuring equipment
Ability to make independent decisions without supervisory assistance
