Job Description:

Be the contact for the day-to-day supplier related quality issues, including coordinating the quality hold process due to quality and the rework needed. Provide support to quality issues identified on the production line as needed. Accountable for executing, Root-Cause-Corrective-Action Analysis (RCCA), 8D, rework and containment plans, and strong communication and collaboration with suppliers. Responsible for maintaining accountability with the suppliers to establish containment plans related to quality discrepancies. Ensure suppliers are developing ICA plans to enable operations to continue with minimum disruption. Conduct quality investigations to determine root cause, develop and implement solution. Investigate suspect material to find root cause and provide feedback. Inspect 48 hours of planned material for reactive nonconformance to support the assembly line. Visit supplier on need basis to address quality issues, conduct process audits, align / train suppliers on the Cat quality requirements. CAR closure / 8D closure within 30 days with robust RCCA. Monitor 8D effectiveness to avoid repeated issues.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelors or Diploma Graduate in Engineering/Manufacturing is required
  • A minimum of 3 years of job-related experience Quality or manufacturing or customer interfacing assignments

Nice to have:

  • Strong understanding of quality tools, such as 8D, 5 Whys, SPC etc.
  • Strong analytical skills in gathering, analyzing, and improving key quality metrics
  • Strong understanding and utilization of GD&T
  • Knowledge of Gear, shafts, valves, Castings etc.
  • Effective communicator, in written and oral form
  • Experience in developing and presenting presentations to Leadership teams or suppliers
