The Supplier Operations Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining an efficient, reliable supply base that supports the company’s production and operational needs. This role manages supplier selection, evaluation, and performance monitoring, while maintaining the company’s Approved Supplier List (ASL) in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of potential suppliers to determine eligibility for inclusion on the Approved Supplier List (ASL)
Perform supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements, including ITAR, NIST, and SAM.gov
Maintain and manage the Approved Supplier List in accordance with company policies and procedures
Regularly review and update supplier records, including contact information, certifications, and performance metrics
Partner with internal stakeholders to support source selection and procurement activities that meet program requirements related to schedule, cost, and quality
Identify and develop secondary or alternate suppliers as necessary to mitigate supply risks
Assist in the development and execution of supplier project plans to support program milestones and financial goals
Proactively communicate order status and relevant updates to internal customers
Collect and analyze supplier performance data for evaluations and continuous improvement initiatives
Identify, communicate, and escalate potential supplier risks or operational issues
Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for supply chain improvements
Work cross-functionally with procurement, supplier quality, engineering, and other departments to align supplier management strategies with company objectives
Mentor and educate internal teams on supply chain best practices through formal training sessions, one-on-one coaching, or collaborative workshops
Communicate supplier policies and drive compliance across stakeholder groups
Organize and maintain supplier and part trade compliance data within ERP systems, including: HTS codes, NAICS codes, Business size classifications
Ensure data accuracy and compliance with applicable trade regulations
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related discipline
3+ years of progressive experience
Proficiency with data and reporting tools, including: Microsoft Excel, SQL, Power BI, Power Automate
Ability to obtain U.S. security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
