Job Description

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Supervisor to join our team, the Supervisor ensures the smooth daily operation of the day by leading the team, maintaining high-quality service standards, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. They act as the "manager on duty," supporting staff, managing inventory, and handling customer needs to drive profitability and customer loyalty.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee daily opening and closing procedures
  • Manage staff workflow, delegating tasks effectively to optimize service during peak hours
  • Ensure all equipment is properly functioning, and report maintenance issues promptly
  • Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and health regulations
  • Train new hires and provide ongoing coaching to baristas on drink preparation, customer service, and POS operations
  • Motivate the team to maintain high energy and provide friendly service
  • Assist in creating employee rotas and ensuring adequate coverage for shifts
  • Act as the primary point of contact for resolving customer queries and complaints promptly
  • Uphold quality standards for all coffee beverages, food, and products served
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all guests
  • Perform stock checks and assist with ordering inventory to minimize waste
  • Manage cash handling, including auditing cash drawers, reconciling daily sales, and preparing bank deposits
  • Maximize catering sales by ensuring attractive merchandising of food items

Requirements

  • Minimum 1–2 years in a fast-paced café, restaurant, or retail environment, with previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Proven proficiency in operating commercial espresso machines and preparing specialty coffee drinks
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and coach a team
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to handle conflict resolution professionally
  • Experience with POS systems and basic math skills for cash management
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and early mornings
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods (up to 8 hours)
  • Ability to lift up to 30-50 lbs (milk crates, coffee bags, etc.)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
