The position of Traffic & Transport Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily traffic and transport activities on the construction site, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles, materials, and personnel. This role is part of the Snowy 2.0 project, one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world, located in the Snowy Mountains in NSW, Australia. The positions are in remote challenging areas with extreme cold temperatures.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee day-to-day traffic and transport activities within the Snowy 2.0 Project’s construction sites, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards
Collaborate with construction crews, transportation providers, and project teams to coordinate vehicle and material logistics
Ensure that traffic and transport activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards
Facilitate effective communication between project teams, transportation authorities, and stakeholders regarding traffic management plans and updates
Address traffic and transport-related challenges promptly to minimize disruptions and enhance efficiency
Provide support in decision-making processes to optimize traffic flow and transport logistics
Effectively use traffic management software and tools to monitor and improve traffic and transport operations
Assist in supporting the transportation and traffic management teams to ensure a cohesive operation
Maintain accurate records of traffic management plans, incidents, and transportation schedules
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in traffic and transport operations
Applicant must be comfortable providing emergency first aid, including but not limited to
carrying first aid and defibrillation equipment and may involve being first on scene at a traffic or other emergency incident prior to emergency services arrival due to remote location
Requirements:
Relevant certification or diploma in Traffic Management, Logistics or a related field
Familiarity with local and international traffic regulations and safety standards
Proficiency in using traffic management software and tools is advantageous

Minimum of 3 years of experience in traffic management, logistics, or a related role, preferably in the construction industry
Knowledge of tunnelling projects or similar large-scale construction projects
Demonstrated experience in coordinating traffic and transport logistics
Familiarity with traffic management software and tools
Proficient in coordinating traffic flow and transport logistics within a construction site
Understanding of safety regulations and standards related to traffic management in construction
Effective communication skills for liaising with project teams, transportation providers, and stakeholders
Ability to identify and address traffic and transport-related challenges promptly
Sound decision-making skills to ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and materials
Comfortable using traffic management software, tools, and technologies
Ability to work collaboratively with construction crews, transportation teams, and other relevant stakeholders
