Job Description:

Spring Valley Hospital is a member of The Valley Health System, a network of six acute care hospitals that provide care for patients throughout Southern Nevada and nearby communities. Located in southwest Las Vegas, the 366-bed hospital offers emergency care, advanced cardiovascular and neurological surgeries and procedures, surgical services, women’s health, comprehensive maternity services, and a level III neonatal intensive care unit.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provides oversight and local operations management of the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) supporting Surgical Services, various nursing units, and off-site clinics
  • Ensures coordinated and timely delivery of reprocessed items to clinical stakeholders within the health care organization
  • Ensures local facility sterilization and High-Level Disinfection (HLD) functions comply with all regulatory requirements
  • Manages SPD personnel and serves as liaison between SPD and other departments
  • Maintains effective interdepartmental relationships, coordinates, and resolves problems, and ensures cooperation with other programs and services
  • In conjunction with Surgical Services Director, manages the overall SPD budget

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 4-5 years’ experience minimum in Sterile Processing with increasing responsibility
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Certification as Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through HSPA or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) through CBSPD is required
  • Additional certifications (CIS, CER, CHL through HSPA or CSIS, CFER, CSPM through CBSPD) must be acquired within two years
  • Microsoft office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Various applications related to Instrument management (Censis, OneSource)
