Spring Valley Hospital is a member of The Valley Health System, a network of six acute care hospitals that provide care for patients throughout Southern Nevada and nearby communities. Located in southwest Las Vegas, the 366-bed hospital offers emergency care, advanced cardiovascular and neurological surgeries and procedures, surgical services, women’s health, comprehensive maternity services, and a level III neonatal intensive care unit.
Job Responsibility:
Provides oversight and local operations management of the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) supporting Surgical Services, various nursing units, and off-site clinics
Ensures coordinated and timely delivery of reprocessed items to clinical stakeholders within the health care organization
Ensures local facility sterilization and High-Level Disinfection (HLD) functions comply with all regulatory requirements
Manages SPD personnel and serves as liaison between SPD and other departments
Maintains effective interdepartmental relationships, coordinates, and resolves problems, and ensures cooperation with other programs and services
In conjunction with Surgical Services Director, manages the overall SPD budget
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred
4-5 years’ experience minimum in Sterile Processing with increasing responsibility
Prior supervisory experience preferred
Proficiency in spoken and written English
Certification as Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through HSPA or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) through CBSPD is required
Additional certifications (CIS, CER, CHL through HSPA or CSIS, CFER, CSPM through CBSPD) must be acquired within two years
Microsoft office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
