Job Description

As our Respiratory Therapist Supervisor, you will be responsible for the coordination, supervision and evaluation of the respiratory therapy services at the assigned CommonSpirit facility in accordance with established guidelines, professional standards and applicable regulatory requirements. An incumbent may perform patient care activities within scope of licensure as necessary. If assigned to including providing advanced respiratory care involving both therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

Job Responsibility

  • Coordinating, supervising and evaluating the respiratory therapy services
  • Supervising assigned staff (e.g. hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating) engaged in respiratory care activities
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline current operations
  • Problem-solving, troubleshooting and appropriate escalation of issues
  • Researching new technologies for other functions that provide respiratory care services
  • Supervising the work of respiratory therapists
  • Performing some patient care activities within scope of licensure on an incidental basis as needed

Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved school of Respiratory Therapy upon hire
  • Five years of related work experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities required and two years in a 'lead' or supervisory capacity
  • Respiratory care work experience in a level III NICU preferred
  • Bachelors Of Science Healthcare (Respiratory, Healthcare Admin) upon hire
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner: WA (RESP-LIC:WA) upon hire
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 90 Days
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 90 days
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
