Supervisor Registered Nurse (RN) for the Antenatal Resource Center. Responsible for human resources development, administrative duties, and clinical nursing responsibilities for low-risk and high-risk obstetric patients.
Job Responsibility:
Assures adequate staffing
Conducts staff meetings
Determines inservice needs of staff
Provides mandatory inservice programs
Responsible for the supervision of nursing staff, ultrasound staff, clerical staff
Coordinates staff participation in educational programs
Assures competency of direct reports
Guides and directs staff in standards for appropriate documentation
Identifies performance issues and prepares and implements disciplinary actions
Schedules staff and supervises workflow
Verifies time sheets for staff
Provides orientation and training of staff
Ensures that the department offers current antental and fetal diagnostic testing and procedures
Develop policies, procedures and standards of care
Works with the attending medical director to insure the delivery of optimal care
Hires, provides orientation, and reviews the performance of support staff
Addresses patients concerns and complaints
Recommends and implements operational changes
Active participant in quality management activities
Enforces appropriate policies related to clinical nursing duties
Runs Antenatal Resource Center staff meetings
Responsible for the Revenue Cycle for the Antenatal Resource department
Assumes responsibility for the care and management of low-risk and high-risk obstetric patients
Participates in direct patient care activities under direct supervision of the providers
Performs telephone triage
Participates in prenatal diagnostic procedures and/or fetal therapy
Performs duties according to approved infection control policies/procedures
Requirements:
3+ years supervisory experience in a hospital or medical office setting
BSN preferred
Ability to recognize needs and behaviors of age specific patient groups
Board Certification by 12/31/2015 or within two years of hire
Good communication skills
Good organizational skills
Performs adequate psychological and physical assessment of patients
Computer knowledge and skills
Appropriate clinical skills for assessment and diagnosis of Maternal Fetal Medicine patients
Current Illinois RN License
Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting patients and moving equipment
Flexible hours
Ability to effectively manage a diverse work load
Ability to communicate with patients and respond in a timely manner
Ability to make independent professional decisions using good judgement skills
Ability to recognize needs and behaviors of adolescent and adult age groups
Nice to have:
Labor/Delivery or High-Risk OB experience
Business Finance Acumen preferred
Outpatient Clinic experience preferred
Collaboration with Imaging/Sonography workflow experience a plus
