Job Description:

The Supervisor, QC Chemistry Lab leads the Chemistry lab to develop, meet, and review all internal and external key performance indicators (KPI). The Supervisor helps manage personnel in the laboratory, resolve conflicts, and manage the training program and ongoing improvements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide training, particularly in terms of HPLC operations/methods and development and maintenance of a standardized HPLC training regime
  • Continuous improvement to HPLC efficiency and method accuracy
  • Support any LIR, NC, CAPA efforts related to HPLC methodologies
  • Support growth and development of direct reports
  • Work with other supervisors to enhance lab operations, safety culture, and regulatory compliance
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or related discipline
  • Experience in GMP analytical lab, with similar responsibility for KPI and personnel management (5+ years)
  • Analytical instrumentation experience (i.e.: HPLC, ICP) (an asset)
  • Strong computer skills (including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint)
  • Strong understanding of laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
  • Six Sigma yellow belt (required)
  • Six Sigma green belt or higher (an asset)
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written) in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Effective leadership skills to influence, support and develop a team of high performers

Nice to have:

  • Analytical instrumentation experience (i.e.: HPLC, ICP)
  • Six Sigma green belt or higher
