Job Description

This is a great opportunity for a motivated payroll professional to lead and supervise the payroll services team at City of Darwin. The position reports to the Manager HR Services and is responsible for ensuring high quality, accurate, compliant, customer focused, and best practices payroll services and associated reporting are delivered to City of Darwin internal stakeholders. This position is expected to effectively lead and supervise the payroll team and associated functions. Additionally, the position will contribute to ongoing innovative and effective quality improvements that support positive customer relations and streamline our processes.

Requirements

  • Diploma of Payroll Services or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in payroll/relevant discipline
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in a supervisory role
  • Sound knowledge of how to interpret relevant industrial instruments and associated legislation such as Superannuation, Taxation and Workers Compensation
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislative compliance requirements
  • High level of ICT literacy and competence with human resources and payroll systems
