Supervisor position in Patient Access within the Enterprise Revenue Cycle department. Responsible for assisting management in meeting departmental goals, training registrars, providing employee performance feedback, staffing, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Involves patient registration, cash management, and representing the department on operational issues.
Job Responsibility:
Assists Manager, Director, AVP in meeting performance goals and standards
Assist Manager in training of all registrars
Provides guidance and feedback on employee performance through rounding, auditing and screening
Registers and pre-registers patients as necessary
Assist Manager with the appropriate staffing
Assist Manager with completion of performance appraisals
Reviews and assures that employee time is recorded accurately
Assists manager in keeping current a departmental record
Assures that all employees attend appropriate mandatory classes
Represents Patient Access and Patient Financial Services at designated facility on operational issues
Responsible for daily cash management and valuables function
Produces various reports and feedback to manager
Interacts on as needed basis with other Atrium departments
Promotes a positive hospital image
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Background in patient access and health insurance
Knowledge of current government and state regulations (including Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare regulations)
Must be able to push a patient in a wheelchair and maneuver it through areas including doors, up and down ramps and elevators
Must be able to respond quickly to medical stats and emergencies
May be required to lift 20-50 pounds occasionally
Nice to have:
Experience in healthcare billing, follow-up, and certification
1-3 years of supervisory experience
