Job Description

The Supervisor, Paint & Finishing is responsible for directing, assigning, and controlling the workflow of all work orders assigned to the paint and finishing shop, identifying and verifying techniques and materials needed for projects, maintaining inventory, color matching and mixing, shop organization and quality control. Reports to Manager, Fabrication.

Job Responsibility

  • Monitor and determine the painting/finishing requirements for projects
  • Ensure material and labor resources are planned for projects based on the needs of the design
  • Collaborate with shop staff, designers, and project team to ensure finishes meet desired design intents
  • Manage assigned work order supplies and materials for each project completion, ensuring all details are inspected for quality and customer satisfaction
  • Determine correct materials and techniques to be used based on the requirements of the project
  • Manage inventory levels, order project specific materials and supplies
  • Color match and mix different mediums and textures to project specifications
  • Research new materials and finishing techniques
  • Always maintain a clean and organized department
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality control
  • Adhere and enforce all company policies and procedures
  • Other duties assigned
  • Follow all applicable OSHA and corporate safety protocols and regulations
  • Enforce best practices with safety
  • use of tools, machinery, equipment while providing training on safety gear and procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years related supervisory experience related to paint and finishing experience
  • Strong working knowledge of painting & finishing methods
  • Working knowledge of current production standard operating procedures, safety protocols, materials, and application methods unique to our business
  • Proven supervisory experience in leading multiple projects and team members
  • Delegate responsibilities to team members, and contractors
  • Ability to organize projects and teams through multiple departmental input
  • Communicate verbally, computers, apps, and relevant software
  • Experience at leading in a collaborative team environment
