Requirements:
Supervises, hires, trains, evaluates and motivates the Transport Scheduling and Planning team
directs the daily work of direct reports
Oversees the daily load plans and scheduling to ensure customer service levels are met
Collaborates with internal partners to ensure that inventory supply is managed and dispatched appropriately
plans deliveries based on store inventory levels and forecasted sales
Identifies root cause analysis in the event of an outage and completes outage protocol
provides timely communication of critical events
Maintains working knowledge of federal, state, and local rules and regulations, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and Department of Transportation (DOT)
ensures drivers are in compliance
Identifies process changes to improve efficiency, effectiveness and customer satisfaction
Provides expertise at various meetings by attending and presenting data
Develops and presents reports regarding performance and financial impact
Creates and administers departmental operating expense budgets
Develops training programs for dispatchers on department policies and procedures
ensures proper completion and documentation of training
Ensures staff coverage 24 hours per day, seven days per week
Develops subordinates and recommends placement
conducts performance appraisals and recommends salary consideration
