Job Description

The Marine Supervisor will deliver world class marine operation productivity, safety and innovation in support of the Onslow Iron Ore Project. You will play a key role interfacing between the Port, Marine and Mining Operations teams and Port Authority to ensure the project achieves maximum throughput, in a safe manner. For this position you will be on rotating roster 7D/7N/14R/7D/7N based at Onslow and reporting directly to the Senior Superintendent Marine Port Operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Supervise overall safety and operational efficiency of the transshipment operation and supporting fleet.
  • Oversee and coordinate fuel bunkering operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Supervise vessel cargo loading, handling and distribution activities for maximum efficiency.
  • Oversee the Vessel Traffic System to optimise safe and efficient operations.
  • Supervise the movement of Transshipment vessels, equipment and stores from the quayside operational area to the fleet.
  • Manage logistics for moving stores, spares, and equipment from shoreside to transhippers.
  • Plan safe and efficient crew transfer vessel movements.
  • Participate in and supervise other logistics and tasks that contribute to the overall safety and efficiency of port marine operations.

Requirements

  • Marine (Seafaring) qualification or General Logistics or Port Operations qualification (desirable)
  • Diploma or above in Relevant Marine Industry qualification (or equivalent experience (desirable)
  • Marine Project or Marine Operations and Port Operations experience
  • Logistics or supply chain experience
  • Planning and supervising materials movement, plant and equipment operations, fuel bunkering and other port marine related activities
  • Vessel Traffic Systems and Port Communications development and operations (desirable)
  • Sea going experience (desirable)
